In the past Apple automatically opened a “Save As” option when you clicked on “Save” but this is no longer the case with their own apps like “Pages” or “Numbers.” I use both of these apps frequently and wondered where the “Save As” option went. You will not see it if you title your document – just the “Save” option and a hint below that it is going into “Documents” by default. Of course that is not good enough if you have created specific folders in “Documents.” Left untitled you get the “Save As” option and a complete look into the documents folder as you would expect.
A quick way to get the “Save As” option again with titled documents is to hold down the (you guessed it) “Option” key when you go to the “Save” command.
Apparently this is a not so subtle attempt by Apple to get you to save to their “Cloud.”
